In India, mass-rape has become an everyday issue, between authorities’ indifference and a general tolerance of sexual harassment. “There’s a bias that operates in the mind of decision makers — stereotyping women, blaming the victim, trying to find out if she invited the rape”, said Indira Jaisingh, national additional solicitor general.

Rape is endemic not only in New Delhi, but also in Uttar Pradesh, where lots of girls were found and - according to national crime statistics - about five people per day are raped.
