Campaign details

The 40-ft Cheeki Rafiki was a sailing yacht departed from Antigua on May the 4th having a four people crew on board: skipper Andrew Bridge, 22, of Farnham in Surrey, and James Male, 23, of Southampton, Steve Warren, 52, of Bridgwater, Somerset, and Paul Goslin, 56, of West Camel, Somerset. On May the 14th sailors radio they are taking on water and have diverted to the Azores. The British boat vanished around 620 miles east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts on May 16th: locator beacons were activated and all contact was lost. On Friday 23rd the US Coast Guard finally found the hull of the Cheeki Rafiki and released a statement according to which the life raft aboard the capsized sailing vessel Cheeki Rafiki was secured in its storage space in the aft portion of the boat indicating it was not used for emergency purposes. All hopes of finding the crew alive have disappeared.
