Going in public without a veil in Iran can cost women 70 lashes and 60 days in prison. Despite this, a lot of women are challenging Sharia law showing themselves unveiled on a Facebook page. They keep hijab around their necks, they hold ‘em in hands or let them fly like flags. The movement's creator, Alinejad, is currently living in the UK and says: “I just asked women to send selfies of their private moments of freedom”. “When I was in Iran - she added - I would take my head scarf off when I was out in a field or some place private, and I wondered how many Iranian women [did the same]. Apparently a lot.”
